Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value services, with a primary focus on Value Truck Rental while cross-selling other services, including Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Gather information on clients’ transport, distribution, and expenditure.
- Evaluate potential expenditure and apply focus factors (G, S, B).
- Understand competitors in your area and market trends.
- Build strong client relationships and establish trust.
- Identify customer service requirements and provide accurate quotes for Value services.
- Expand the existing client base by understanding their business and cross-selling Value services.
- Close sales deals effectively and target national accounts.
- Know client contracts and ensure the services provided meet current customer requirements.
- Understand client businesses and drive growth to meet required targets.
- Maximise value from every client interaction with a clear objective for each visit.
- Ensure service levels are maintained according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain frequent and effective contact with key business decision-makers.
- Keep product knowledge updated and resolve client queries promptly, including invoices, claims, and PODs.
- Project a professional image at all times.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Submit sales reports and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Meet team expectations, budgets, and targets set by management.
- Support additional tasks as reasonably requested by management within the scope of the role.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Sales experience in a similar environment
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

- Ability to apply appropriate sales techniques for different situations
- Strong customer needs assessment and relationship management skills
- Effective time management
- Understanding of risk management principles and ability to accept outcomes independently
