Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the dispensary and clinic while delivering service excellence. This role leads and develops the pharmacy team to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, achieve sales and compliance targets, and strengthen the brand’s competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure the delivery of high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and professional patient counselling in line with SAPC regulations and company standards.

Manage and control all dispensary operations, including stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administration in accordance with legal and merchandising requirements.

Ensure the financial viability of the dispensary through effective expense management, achievement of core dispensary and clinic targets, and proactive corrective action.

Lead, motivate, and develop pharmacists, interns, learners, and support staff through effective recruitment, performance management, and ongoing development.

Schedule staff in line with labour policies and workforce models to ensure adequate coverage, including accurate time and attendance and employee record management.

Drive customer service initiatives within the dispensary to enhance the customer experience, build loyalty, and achieve ClubCard participation targets.

Ensure strong integration and collaboration between the pharmacy, clinic, and healthcare aisles to deliver a comprehensive healthcare offering.

Promote alignment and collaboration between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
-
Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience post community service
-
Minimum of 1 year people management experience
-
Registered with SAPC as the Responsible Pharmacist
-
Retail pharmacy experience is advantageous
-
Experience with Unisolv is advantageous

In-depth knowledge of SAPC regulations and relevant legislation
