Store Manager Trainee

Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate (certified copy required)

2–3 years’ retail experience (advantageous)

1–3 years’ departmental management experience (advantageous)

Successful completion of at least two competency-based interviews

Flexibility and willingness to be transferred between stores

Consent to full credit and criminal background checks

Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working practices in sales floor and back-up areas

Ensure strict adherence to security procedures

Uphold merchandise and display standards at all times

Conduct regular quality checks and ensure correct stock rotation
-
Remove damaged or expired stock to prevent wastage, shrinkage, and losses
-
Verify accurate pricing and correct shelf labeling
-
Complete all administrative tasks accurately and within required timeframes

Analyse, update, and maintain relevant reports and documentation, taking corrective action where required

Plan and implement effective sales promotions

Proactively engage customers, provide product advice, and respond to customer needs

Monitor departmental budgets and implement corrective actions when necessary

Analyse department profitability and recommend or implement improvement initiatives

Optimise stock levels through effective ordering to prevent overstocking or out-of-stock situations
