Beauty Therapist

Dischem Vacancies is seeking a skilled and passionate Beauty Therapist to join the Dis-Chem Beauty Salon team. This role focuses on delivering exceptional skincare and body treatments while promoting the full range of services offered in Dis-Chem Beauty Salons and ensuring outstanding client care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Client Care & Treatment Delivery

• Provide customers with a professional and memorable salon experience
• Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in accordance with Dis-Chem standards
• Address customer queries, complaints, and compliments with professionalism and care

Product & Service Knowledge

• Promote awareness of skincare and body treatments available in the salon
• Stay informed about new products, treatments, and service techniques

Salon Operations

• Manage salon stock levels in line with operational requirements
• Ensure all equipment is clean, sanitized, and fully operational at all times

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon
• Computer literate with sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon

Competencies

Essential

• Solid understanding of skin anatomy, physiology, and treatment contraindications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach
• Target-driven with the ability to meet deadlines

Advantageous

• Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming, or spray tanning
• Training on laser or additional salon equipment
• Ability to communicate in more than one language

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• Clear criminal and credit record
