Perpetual Inventory Controller – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The Perpetual Inventory Controller is responsible for conducting physical cycle stock counts, reconciling stock-on-hand against system records, investigating variances, and reporting on damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory control.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with at least one year of relevant work experience, or two years of related experience

Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language

Strong literacy and numerical skills

High level of accuracy with the ability to work under pressure

Basic computer literacy
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Performance Areas
Perpetual Inventory Counts
-
Perform daily stock counts in line with the PIC count cycle
-
Investigate all positive and negative variances and report findings to the Store Manager
-
Rectify negative stock quantities daily with management approval
-
Identify and report damaged stock to the Store Manager
-
Conduct mini stock takes as instructed by Management
-
Assist with wall-to-wall stock take preparations and highlight areas of concern
-
Perform normal PIC counts during full stock takes as required
Reporting
-
Report daily variances to Store Management and Divisional Management in line with the Cashbuild Way
-
Escalate unresolved irregularities to the Divisional Manager where required
-
Report on incorrect pricing, poor-quality pricing, SKU discrepancies, and damaged stock
-
Identify and report poor merchandising standards in racking and bulk areas
-
Highlight bulk stock areas requiring special attention
PIC Adjustments
-
Ensure all stock adjustments are accurately processed, verified, and approved by Management
-
Validate the End of Day Report against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet and ensure proper filing
-
Report any outstanding adjustments not completed within the count cycle before close of trade
Filing and Administration
-
Ensure all PIC documentation is accurately completed, signed, approved, and filed daily

Customer Service

Maintain professional appearance in line with the Cashbuild dress code

Ensure name badge is visible at all times

Assist promptly with customer complaints when required
