Job Description
The A/C Performance Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations through accurate flight planning, performance analysis, navigation system management, and fuel optimisation while ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, validate, and manage Operational Flight Plans and navigation logs using approved flight planning systems.

Capture, maintain, and verify accurate records of all aircraft movements within the flight planning system.

Assess route feasibility to ensure compliance with regulatory authority requirements, international aviation standards, and company policies.

Monitor and analyse post-flight statistical data to identify deviations, inefficiencies, and safety concerns.

Configure, maintain, and support flight planning software, including applications used on Flight Crew iPads.

Evaluate and update fuel tankering requirements based on fuel pricing, uplift limitations, and operational considerations.

Liaise with regulatory authorities, foreign civil aviation bodies, and airport service providers to ensure statutory and operational compliance.

Coordinate with navigation data suppliers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely updates of navigation data.

Identify and report non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions in line with SACAA and ICAO standards.

Ensure all activities comply with statutory regulations, organisational policies, and operational procedures.

Coordinate and monitor navigation-related training for Flight Operations staff in line with regulatory and company requirements.

Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide ongoing support to flight crew and operational teams on navigation and flight planning tools.

Analyse internal and external stakeholder requirements and identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

Build and maintain effective working relationships across departments and with external service providers.

Implement remedial actions where service levels or stakeholder requirements are not being met.

Manage fair utilisation and coordination of shared navigation services between airlines, ensuring transparency and equitable access.

Liaise with internal teams and external providers to support reliable and cost-effective fuel supply.

Contribute to the Safety Management System by identifying risks, reporting hazards, and supporting corrective and preventative actions.

Analyse operational performance data to identify trends, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities.

Support innovation, system optimisation, and technology implementation initiatives.

Participate in fuel efficiency, cost-saving, and sustainability initiatives aligned with operational objectives.

Maintain audit-ready records and ensure accurate documentation for internal and external audits.
-
Compile and distribute operational reports on flight planning accuracy, route feasibility, delays, and post-flight statistics.

Develop and maintain compliance and performance dashboards aligned to SACAA requirements and company standards.

Track and analyse fuel uplift, burn, and usage trends to identify efficiency and sustainability opportunities.
Job Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (Essential).

Flight Operations Officer qualification (Essential).
-
Train the Trainer certification (Essential).
-
Relevant Degree or Diploma (Advantageous).
-
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant aviation experience (Essential).

Proven experience in aviation fuel management support functions (Essential).
-
Experience using Jeppesen software (Advantageous).
-
Experience with an Operations Control System (OCS) (Advantageous).

Previous aviation industry experience (Beneficial).

Willingness to work overtime when operationally required.
