Job Description
Spar Vacancies is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the management and recovery of outstanding accounts while ensuring compliance with credit policies and financial regulations. The role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, managing credit risk, and leading a team to achieve timely collections and accurate financial reporting.
The Accounts Receivable Manager will monitor credit approvals, conduct account reviews, manage overdue accounts, and facilitate financing applications. The role also includes staff management, inter-departmental coordination, and reporting to executives.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee legal collection and handover of overdue accounts
• Ensure effective execution of the credit approval process
• Conduct credit reviews for new and existing accounts
• Implement systems to manage and resolve customer queries efficiently
• Manage the outstanding claims process
• Ensure strict compliance with company Credit Policy and relevant legislation
• Maintain healthy inter-departmental relationships
• Facilitate financing applications and analyse store feasibility studies
• Manage and develop the accounts receivable team
• Provide weekly reports and updates to executives
• Perform weekly audit checks
• Manage and monitor credit limits
Minimum Requirements
• Matric certificate
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum of 3 years’ credit management experience in a commercial FMCG environment, including legal collections
• In-depth understanding of applicable legislation including FIC Act, National Credit Act, Companies Act, and Insolvency Law
• Strong financial accounting analysis and reconciliation skills
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
• Team player with assertiveness and leadership capabilities
• Advanced computer literacy, including Excel; SAP and AS400 experience advantageous
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
