Purpose of the Role
The Administrative Specialist provides efficient and accurate administrative support to the People & Organisation (P&O) function. This role ensures effective HR processes, accurate employee records, compliance with legislation and policies, and a high standard of service delivery to employees, managers, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the P&O/HR function
• Manage and participate in daily HR administrative activities
• Support HR projects and ensure expected service delivery to the HR team, business units, and Centres of Excellence
• Promote awareness, adoption, and effective use of the HRIS and available HR reports
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and procedures within the business unit
• Maintain effective working relationships with external HR partners and internal support functions
• Coordinate and execute HR and business-related projects
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
• Conduct interviews for entry-level and junior roles, including reference and verification checks
• Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
• Demonstrate the ability to self-manage and use initiative on assigned projects
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Certification in HR Management (advantageous)
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR Administrator or relevant administrative role
Skills and Competencies
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based problem-solving principles
• Understanding of behavioural assessments and competency mapping
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and accuracy
