We are seeking a talented Assistant Clothing Manager to join our team of experienced professionals. This role is ideal for determined, focused, and dedicated individuals who can combine business acumen with technical competence to drive results and uphold professional values throughout the store.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
- Previous managerial or reliever experience in retail
- Computer literate (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams/Zoom)
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours stock takes
- Willingness to relocate between stores if required
- Ability to undertake physical hands-on tasks
- Completion of required assessment

Key Responsibilities
Customer Journey
- Ensure exceptional customer service and adherence to company standards
- Attend to customer requests and promote products and services
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and execute all plans and promotions
People Management
- Assist the Store Manager with all staff-related functions
- Manage employee performance and address shortcomings as needed
- Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives
- Assist with performance management, talent development, and succession planning
- Lead, coach, and motivate staff to achieve store goals
Daily Operations / Stock Management / Risk Management
- Open and close the store in line with company security procedures
- Conduct start and end-of-day reporting and administrative tasks
- Manage staff scheduling, leave, invoices, pricing, costs, floats, banking, reconciliations, and head office instructions
- Ensure merchandise is received, packed, merchandised, and displayed according to company standards
- Monitor product quality, control shrinkage, and maintain OHS compliance
Sales / Promotions
- Drive sales to achieve budget and performance targets
- Monitor turnover, sales, and participation
- Execute promotions, markdowns, and RTCs
