Clicks Group Careers is seeking a motivated Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving daily store operations, leading a high-performing team, and delivering outstanding customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment. This role plays a key part in creating a positive store culture where teamwork, service excellence, and operational discipline drive success.
Duties & Responsibilities
Store Operations & Performance
- Support the Store Manager with the effective execution of daily store operations to achieve sales targets and operational standards.
- Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and operational controls.
Team Leadership & Engagement
- Lead, motivate, and support the store team to deliver excellent customer service and strong performance.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a customer-first culture on the shop floor.
Customer Experience
- Ensure customers receive a consistently high standard of service and a positive in-store experience.
- Resolve customer queries and escalations professionally and timeously.
Merchandising & Store Standards
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, stock presentation, hygiene, and housekeeping.
- Support promotional execution and ensure in-store standards are consistently met.
Operational Support
- Work independently when required and collaborate effectively with the Store Manager and team to achieve business objectives.
Desired Experience & Skills
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a retail store environment, preferably within food or liquor retail.

- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to lead by example and motivate others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
