Back Door Specialist – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Job
The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth back door operations and minimise operational failures. The role focuses on building strong relationships with store and DC teams, understanding end-to-end back door processes, and resolving operational issues between back door functions and Value Logistics operations to improve efficiency and turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and maintain strong working relationships with store and distribution centre back door teams

• Conduct at least one monthly visit to each allocated back door

• Understand and monitor back door processes from receiving to dispatch, including returns, to ensure compliance and smooth stock flow

• Maintain and update back door and DC requirements on a monthly basis

• Provide operational support to back doors by addressing issues and coordinating resolutions with Value Logistics operations

• Drive corrective actions to completion within agreed deadlines

• Monitor, improve, and reduce turnaround times at back door operations

• Manage and support the efficient processing of bookings, escalating potential risks that may cause vehicle offloading delays

• Drive the implementation and adoption of technology and system integrations to improve processes and operational efficiency

• Manage and improve procedures aimed at minimising product returns

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Logistics, Warehouse, or related qualification advantageous

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail and distribution centre back door operations, audits, and resolving delayed offloading issues

• Own reliable transport
