Business Development Manager – DSV Vacancies
Role Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for securing new accounts and consistently achieving monthly and annual new business targets. The role includes signing and managing strategic accounts, as well as overseeing the successful implementation of these accounts in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Prospect for new business opportunities and build a qualified sales pipeline

Convert leads into sustainable, revenue-generating clients

Manage and grow long-term client relationships

Share monthly billing and financial reports with relevant stakeholders

Perform daily administrative duties in line with company standards

Represent and promote the DSV brand at all times

Analyse sales performance and submit weekly reports to the Regional New Business Sales Manager

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records on the Dynamics CRM system
-
Conduct continuous competitor and industry analysis
-
Assist with tender and proposal preparation, presentation, and submission
-
Deliver innovative, value-driven logistics solutions to customers
-
Ensure quarterly, cumulative, and annual targets are achieved
-
Coordinate the implementation and communication of signed business with all stakeholders
-
Manage debtor days in accordance with company requirements
-
Maintain effective interdepartmental communication
-
Identify cross-silo opportunities and collaborate with department heads to drive integrated solutions
-
Ensure CRM data is maintained in line with company procedures and Quality Management Systems
-
Meet required client call ratio KPIs and adhere to performance standards
-
Work to strict deadlines and deliver consistent results
-
Perform additional duties as required by management
Qualifications
-
Completed Grade 12 / Matric
-
Tertiary qualification is advantageous
Computer Skills
-
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
-
Advanced computer skills are advantageous
Experience Requirements
-
2–3 years’ experience in key account management and new business sales
-
Proven track record in prospecting and securing new business
-
Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
-
Tender management experience
-
Experience in selling cross-silo logistics solutions
-
Proven ability to sign and grow strategic accounts
-
Experience in implementing strategic client accounts
-
Daily reporting to the Regional Sales Manager
-
Weekly and monthly reporting as required
-
Consistent daily CRM updates and compliance with performance standards
