Job Description
Reports To: Technical Manager

Qualification & Experience:

• Matric or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
• Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

Job Requirements & Attributes:

• Valid driver’s licence essential
• PSIRA registered (Grade C)
• Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Telecom systems
• Knowledge of CCTV, Intercom systems, and access control advantageous
• Willing to work standby as required

• FADT customers
• Suppliers

Technical Duties:

• Perform alarm installations according to quotations
• Program alarm panels and systems per specifications
• Provide on-site quotes for additional equipment when necessary
• Plan cable runs with the wireman
• Obtain customer codes prior to attending calls and during standby
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards for each installation
• Provide timely feedback to Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre

Technical Performance Standards:

• Ensure installations match Sales Rep quotations
• Program alarms according to FADT standards
• Quote correctly and accurately
• Adhere to SHE requirements at all times
• Confirm accurate customer details before attending calls
• Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards on time and accurately
• Provide prompt feedback to relevant parties

General Duties:

• Download cites every morning
• Maintain stock records and assist storeman with stock takes
• Keep company vehicle clean
• Submit petrol slips

General Performance Standards:

• Ensure stock is updated and report discrepancies
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle at all times
• Submit petrol slips weekly
