About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ CJ Marketing team in Delmas is looking for a CJM Procurement Officer to manage suppliers, trading terms, product selection, stock planning, and market analysis. The role focuses on driving turnover and profit, implementing promotional strategies, and providing reporting and analytics aligned with marketing objectives.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Accounting
• Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience in media, design, marketing, or events

Advantageous:

• Degree in Buying, Finance, or Retail Management

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management:

• Analyse consumer buying patterns to predict trends and guide product selection
• Purchase merchandise according to client needs and market research
• Review sales performance, stock turn, sell-through, and stock-on-hand
• Collaborate with other departments to manage spend and mitigate risks
• Place supplier orders, negotiate prices, and manage delivery contracts
• Monitor competitor activity and adjust stock planning accordingly
• Ensure optimal stock levels to maximize sales and minimize losses

Marketing Support:

• Assist in formulating marketing plans aligned with company strategy
• Analyse target audiences to design effective marketing campaigns
• Support budget allocation for campaigns and manage critical paths to meet deadlines
• Maintain pricing strategies to remain competitive while meeting customer needs
• Track campaign costs and evaluate campaign effectiveness

Financial Oversight:

• Assist in developing annual strategies to achieve sales targets
• Monitor inventory, expenditures, and deliveries against budgets
• Identify opportunities to improve profit margins

Administration & Reporting:

• Provide accurate reporting on sales trends, product performance, and finances
• Forecast demand and adjust stock planning accordingly
• Report on sales, profit, market share, and stock returns monthly
• Evaluate product quality using customer feedback

Stakeholder Relationships:

• Work closely with sales, online store, design, and marketing teams to ensure accurate stock and displays
• Conduct supplier reviews and negotiate trading terms
• Present new product collections to management
• Foster strong, long-term supplier relationships
• Liaise with other departments to ensure timely project completion

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations
