Commercial & Marketing Finance Controllert – Danone

Purpose of the Job
The Commercial & Marketing Finance Controllert is responsible for providing end-to-end financial business partnering support to the Commercial and Marketing teams. As a key member of the Topline team, this role actively contributes to driving profitable growth and financial sustainability by leading the Gross-to-Net Improvement agenda, developing Inno/Reno business cases, optimising Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) within A&P spend, and ensuring accurate and reliable topline forecasting. The role also supports strong corporate governance across the Topline function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic finance business partner to Commercial and Marketing stakeholders

  • Drive Gross-to-Net Improvement initiatives to enhance topline profitability

  • Lead financial modelling and business case development for Innovation and Renovation projects

  • Monitor, analyse, and improve ROMI across Advertising and Promotion spend

  • Deliver accurate topline forecasts and provide insightful financial reporting

  • Support decision-making through strong financial analysis and commercial insights

  • Contribute to governance, controls, and compliance within the Topline function

  • Lead and support people management initiatives within Finance Business Partnering

  • Develop and mentor junior finance team members for future readiness

Qualifications

  • BCom degree with CIMA or CA(SA) qualification considered advantageous

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant finance experience within an FMCG environment

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within Finance Business Partnering

Experience and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication with effective influencing skills

  • Proven ability to manage people and stakeholder expectations

  • Demonstrated capability to develop junior talent

  • Strong computer literacy and systems orientation

  • High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure

  • Strong willingness to learn with clear drive and ambition

  • Excellent financial acumen with the ability to evaluate the financial impact of decisions

  • Strong analytical, interpretative, and investigative skills

  • Solid SAP experience
