Credit Controller – DSV Vacancies
Main Purpose of the Role
The Credit Controller is responsible for adhering to DSV’s credit and collections processes, ensuring healthy cash flow and minimizing financial risk by managing timely customer payments and maintaining strong credit control practices.
Tertiary Qualification
- Completed or currently studying BCom Accounting or BCom Financial Management
- Accounting degree, diploma, or Credit Management qualification
- Other relevant financial accounting qualifications will be considered
Computer Literacy Level
- Basic computer literacy
Additional Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and CargoWise1 is preferred
Job Related Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Credit Controller role
- Practical knowledge of SAP, Bluejay, CW1, and Clientzone
- Full responsibility for the end-to-end credit control function
- Strong process-driven approach with a clear understanding of underlying business processes
- Ability to drive correct credit behaviour and ensure organizational compliance
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement short-, medium-, and long-term solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations
- Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Experience within a Shared Services or Logistics environment
- Confidence in engaging with senior-level management using clear and concise information
- Strong understanding of the logistics industry with hands-on experience
- Currently studying toward a financial or credit management qualification
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance, KPI-driven environment while meeting AR SLA targets and Credit Risk Policies
Duties and Responsibilities
- Issue new account opening and welcome letters to all new customers
- Assess and monitor customer creditworthiness, including credit reports and credit limit reviews
- Execute the collections process by proactively following up on outstanding balances via calls, emails, and meetings
- Log and manage disputes, facilitate resolution, and apply interest charges where applicable
- Analyse payment patterns and recommend actions to prevent indebtedness
- Distribute statements and invoices within agreed timelines and advise on potential write-offs
- Identify, record, and coordinate the resolution of customer queries in collaboration with Operations and Sales teams
- Ensure strict adherence to credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with senior management, finance, operations, and other stakeholders to communicate credit risk insights
- Deliver consistent, high-quality service to internal and external customers
- Prepare and submit accurate reports in line with month-end deadlines
- Respond promptly to internal and external customer queries and support smooth operational processes through effective teamwork
Other Duties
- Maintain customer master data, ensuring high data quality and compliance with data governance standards
