Job Overview
Sea Harvest Vacancies is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead financial and management accounting functions supporting the Saldanha Operations, including vessel fleets, factories, and support services. This role provides critical financial insights and strategic support to assist leadership in making informed decisions that enhance operational performance and help achieve the objectives of the SA Fishing business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Coordinate and prepare operational budgets and financial forecasts.
- Compile and manage CAPEX budgets and forecasts supported by well-developed business cases and motivations.
- Ensure all planning and forecasting processes are completed efficiently and within required timelines.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Oversee month-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Manage the collection and consolidation of accurate operational and financial data.
- Prepare professional financial and management reports with detailed analysis and commentary for decision-making.
Operational and Cost Control
- Maintain and monitor internal control systems aligned with best practices.
- Conduct variance analysis by reviewing actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with senior operations management to drive cost containment and improve operational and capital expenditure efficiency.
Operational and Financial Support
- Manage fish quota reporting and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate delivery of operational data, including remuneration-related information.
- Oversee the Products Masterfile and maintain effective costing methodologies and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
Leadership and Team Management
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing finance team.
- Lead and manage team performance to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational targets.
Requirements and Skills
- BCom CA(SA) and/or ACMA qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar financial management role.
- Strong computer literacy and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Good understanding of key business processes and financial practices.
- Proven influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Methodical and well-organized approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure.
