Job Overview
Sea Harvest Vacancies is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Manager to oversee financial and management accounting functions supporting the Saldanha Operations, including the vessel fleet, factories, and support services. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial insights and strategic support that enable effective decision-making and improved operational performance within the SA Fishing business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Coordinate and compile operational budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare and manage CAPEX budgets and forecasts supported by detailed business cases and motivations.
- Ensure all planning processes are completed efficiently and within required timelines.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Manage month-end closing procedures and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Oversee the collection and validation of operational and financial data.
- Prepare detailed financial and management reports with clear analysis and commentary for management review.
Operational and Cost Control
- Maintain strong internal control systems aligned with industry best practices.
- Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with senior operational management to improve efficiency and control operational and capital expenditure costs.
Operational and Financial Support
- Manage fish quota reporting and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate delivery of operational data, including remuneration information.
- Oversee the Products Masterfile and ensure effective product costing and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
Leadership and Team Management
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing finance team.
- Manage team performance to ensure alignment with company objectives and operational goals.
Requirements and Skills
- BCom CA(SA) and/or ACMA qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar financial management role.
- Strong computer literacy and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong understanding of key business processes and financial practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior management.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Methodical, organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and assess critical information effectively.
- Professional, confident, credible, and highly motivated.
