Job Description
Positions are available for Fire Fighters within the Fidelity Group to respond to and manage all fire-related incidents. The role involves firefighting, emergency rescue services, basic medical care, fire prevention, training activities, operating and maintaining firefighting equipment, and all related duties to protect lives and property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous substance incidents, and other emergencies
• Extricate and release casualties as required and perform emergency operations under supervision
• Resuscitate and treat injured persons at emergency scenes
• Operate firefighting equipment to manage and extinguish fires effectively
• Undertake fire protection duties in situations that threaten lives or property
• Prepare for emergencies and participate in drills, simulations, and physical fitness training
• Train relevant employees on firefighting theory and practice
• Advise on preventative and corrective fire safety actions
• Implement procedures, strategies, and use equipment to protect people, institutions, and property
• Perform basic maintenance on firefighting equipment and vehicles to ensure readiness
• Conduct health and safety inspections and maintain workplace safety standards
• Complete administrative documentation, logs, and reports accurately
• Participate in departmental Health and Safety Committee activities
• Drive and operate heavy and specialized firefighting vehicles
• Use machinery to gain access, hoist, lower, and extricate victims or equipment
• Assist with fire safety inspections, life safety education, and training drills
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal policies
• Supervise and manage line personnel as required

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Grade 12 minimum
• IFSAC Accredited
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification
• At least 2–3 years of firefighting experience
• Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP; advanced driving advantageous
• Medically and physically fit
• Strong knowledge of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems
• Clear criminal record
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
• Administration, communication, and customer liaison skills
• Hazmat experience and knowledge essential
• EMT certification and First Aid Levels 1–3
• Basic Ambulance Attendant certification

Core Competencies:

• Strong verbal and written communication
• Understanding of Hazmat guidelines
• Knowledge of the security industry and adherence to codes of conduct
• Operational and instructional skills for firefighter training applications
