About the Program:
Job Description
The Fire Fighter is responsible for responding to fire-related incidents and emergencies within the Fidelity Group. This role includes firefighting, emergency rescue services, providing basic medical care, fire prevention, training activities, and the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment to protect lives and property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous substance incidents, and other emergency or humanitarian situations
- Extricate and assist casualties as directed by supervisory authority
- Resuscitate and treat injured persons under guidance
- Operate firefighting equipment to manage and extinguish fires
- Perform fire protection duties in potentially life- or property-threatening situations
- Prepare for emergencies and protection duties under supervision
- Participate in training drills, simulations, and physical fitness programs
- Train relevant employees on firefighting theory and practice
- Advise on preventative and corrective fire safety actions
- Implement procedures and use equipment to ensure safety of people, property, and data
- Perform basic maintenance on firefighting equipment and vehicles
- Check, clean, test, and maintain vehicles and equipment
- Maintain computerized occurrence logs and complete administrative documentation
- Conduct workplace health and safety inspections
- Operate heavy and specialized vehicles and machinery at emergency incidents
- Assist with fire and safety training, fire safety inspections, and life safety education
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and departmental policies
- Supervise line personnel and perform functional duties as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12
- IFSAC Accredited
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification
- 2–3 years of firefighting experience
- Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP; advanced driving advantageous
- Medically and physically fit
- Knowledge of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems, including fire classes and chemistry
- Clear criminal record
- Hazmat experience and knowledge
- EMT certification and First Aid levels 1–3
- Basic Ambulance Attendant qualification
- Ability to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Strong administration, interpersonal, and customer liaison skills
Core Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding of Hazmat guidelines
- Knowledge of security industry regulations and code of conduct
- Understanding of firefighter instructional applications and operational responsibilities
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and ensure operational readiness
