Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Fire Systems Sales Consultant is responsible for sourcing and generating business in Fire Sprinkler, Fire Detection, Gas Suppression, and 1475 solutions, including the Service and Maintenance thereof. The role involves solution-based selling, covering Fire Sprinkler, Fire Detection, Gas Suppression, Servicing & Maintenance, and Remote Monitoring contracts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities through proactive prospecting and cold calling within Commercial, Mining, and Industrial sectors.
- Achieve sales targets while maintaining approved margins.
- Prepare accurate and professional quotes and proposals.
- Manage key accounts to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
- Acquire comprehensive trade and competitor knowledge to inform sales strategy.
- Maintain and manage sales pipeline and forecasts.
- Provide technical liaison for installation projects, ensuring successful delivery.
- Interpret drawings and implement compliant fire system solutions.
- Manage personal deliverables, prioritize tasks, and maintain excellent time management.
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire Industry integrated system sales.
- Working knowledge of SANS10139, SANS10287, SANS1475, and ASIB standards.
- Familiarity with Fire Industry equipment including Sprinklers, Detection, Gas Suppression Systems, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Portables, and Servicing & Maintenance requirements.
- Experience in fire risk assessments, audits, and due diligence inspections of existing buildings.
- Proven track record in management-level sales.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Own reliable transport, valid driver’s licence, and passport.
- Willingness to travel within South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and internationally as required.
