Forecourt Sales Representative – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Job
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for managing and expanding sales within petrol station forecourts and convenience retail outlets. This role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring product availability, and driving sales performance within fast-paced environments where stock turnover is high. The position requires strong knowledge of forecourt operations and the ability to support merchandising, promotions, and stock management effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow customer accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail segment, particularly within beverage and snack categories
  • Manage and promote private label product ranges within assigned accounts
  • Provide frequent customer service visits to maintain product availability and merchandising standards
  • Build strong relationships with site managers and forecourt staff
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to prevent stock shortages
  • Coordinate and manage promotional activities, including receiving promotional catalogues and executing sales in line with active promotions
  • Oversee point-of-sale execution and merchandising at forecourt locations
  • Monitor the performance of key stock keeping units, especially fast-moving items, and recommend product assortment improvements
  • Provide insights into consumer purchasing behaviour within the forecourt retail environment
  • Follow structured route plans and prioritise forecourt visits while maintaining strict adherence to delivery schedules
  • Support credit control processes and reconcile on-site payments or transactions
  • Prepare and present reports detailing activities and performance within the forecourt sales channel

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant sales experience, including at least 3 years within forecourt or convenience retail sales
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven record of sales performance over the past 12 months
