Goods Receiving Supervisor – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Description
The Goods Receiving Supervisor is responsible for receiving and returning stock from suppliers and other stores, accurately capturing goods received on the system, labelling stock, and ensuring all received stock is promptly dispatched to the sales floor for merchandising.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with at least 1 year related experience, or a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

Ability to communicate in English and preferably the dominant local language

Above-average numerical skills

Key Performance Areas
Receiving and IBT Stock
-
Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during all receiving and dispatching activities

Receive stock from suppliers, correctly identify items, and balance stock against supplier invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders
-
Complete and stamp proof of delivery documentation and hand copies to suppliers
-
Accurately capture all goods received on the system within prescribed timeframes
-
Ensure discrepancies are corrected, endorsed, and signed by supplier representatives, including recording vehicle registration details
-
Process all inter-branch transfers (IBTs) in and out within required time limits and ensure accurate filing of all documentation
Stock Distribution
-
Ensure all received stock is cleared from the goods receiving area and merchandised on the sales floor within prescribed timelines
Stock Labelling and Pricing
-
Ensure all stock without printed SKUs is correctly labelled with the appropriate SKU
-
Verify accuracy of printed SKUs and correct any discrepancies identified
-
Adhere strictly to Cashbuild pricing policies
-
Implement pending price changes in line with approved procedures
Supplier Claims and Corrections
-
Validate all supplier claims with supporting documentation, including pick-up slips or credit notes
-
Ensure all adjustments are authorised by the Store Manager
-
Process supplier claims only when stock is scheduled for immediate collection
Security Awareness

Ensure the receiving gate is never left unattended when open
-
Secure receiving stamps and purchase order delivery books in a lockable cupboard or drawer
-
Keep the goods receiving office locked when not in use
-
Ensure supplier delivery crews remain at their vehicles and do not loiter in the store
Ready for Business

Maintain a clean and organised goods receiving office at all times
-
Ensure the receiving area is clear of excess or damaged stock, except items awaiting return to suppliers
-
Adhere to all Ready for Business and Beyond My Control procedures
Customer and Supplier Service

Comply with the Cashbuild dress code and display a visible name badge at all times
-
Assist suppliers with queries in a professional manner
-
Provide excellent customer service to any customers interacting with the goods receiving area
Safety (OHSA)

Ensure the first aid box is accessed only by authorised personnel
-
Maintain full OHSA compliance within the area of responsibility
-
Report any safety concerns or hazards to the Store Manager immediately
