Job Purpose

The Head of Engineering (Landbased) is responsible for driving and managing the implementation of operational plans for the Saldanha Asset Care function. The role ensures that all land-based assets are compliant, available, and performing to standard, supporting strategic objectives for efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans for land-based engineering and asset management.
• Ensure all assets are maintained, compliant, and performing according to company standards.
• Monitor and optimize equipment availability to support operational efficiency and productivity goals.
• Drive initiatives to improve asset performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee engineering teams and provide leadership, guidance, and performance management.
• Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance programs across all land-based operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Report on asset performance, maintenance activities, and operational efficiency metrics.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proven experience in engineering management within industrial or land-based operations.
• Strong knowledge of asset care, maintenance planning, and operational efficiency strategies.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements in engineering operations.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
