Job Description
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the store’s inventory to maintain optimal stock levels, minimise losses, and support smooth store operations. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking, effective stock control, and adherence to company standards and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inventory management within retail
  • Experience with SAP, POS systems, and BI reporting for inventory management
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Email
  • Valid Driver’s License

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control

  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to support store operations
  • Conduct regular stock counts to minimise shrinkage and prevent out-of-stock situations
  • Ensure stock movement processes are followed, including Shop Use, RTC, inter-department transfers, and waste management
  • Track inventory using management systems to maintain accurate records
  • Analyse sales trends to forecast inventory requirements

Staff Management

  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork
  • Provide continuous training to improve staff performance
  • Manage compliance with inventory management policies and procedures

Reporting

  • Generate reports on inventory status, turnover, and discrepancies
  • Analyse operational stock reports and implement corrective actions
  • Develop plans to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess stock

Loss Prevention

  • Identify and implement measures to minimise theft and wastage
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in inventory management
  • Collaborate with security to investigate stock discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
