About the Program:
Job Description
The Junior Fire Fighter will respond to and manage fire-related incidents within the Fidelity Group, under guidance and supervision. This role includes firefighting, emergency rescue services, basic medical care, fire prevention, training activities, and operation of firefighting equipment to protect lives and property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous substance incidents, and other emergency or humanitarian situations
- Extricate and assist casualties under supervision
- Resuscitate and provide basic medical care to injured persons
- Operate equipment to control, manage, and extinguish fires
- Perform fire protection duties and prepare for emergencies under guidance
- Participate in training drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness programs
- Train relevant employees in firefighting theory and practice
- Advise on preventative and corrective actions for fire safety
- Implement procedures and use equipment to ensure safety and protection of people, property, and data
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on firefighting equipment and vehicles
- Keep accurate computerized logs and complete administrative documentation
- Conduct workplace health and safety inspections
- Operate heavy and specialized vehicles and machinery at emergency incidents
- Assist with fire safety inspections, life safety education, and training drills
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and departmental policies
- Supervise and support line personnel when required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12
- IFSAC Accredited
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification
- 2–3 years’ related firefighting experience
- Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP; advanced driving advantageous
- Medically and physically fit
- Knowledge of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems (fire classes and chemistry)
- Clear criminal record
- Hazmat experience and knowledge
- EMT certification and First Aid levels 1–3
Core Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding of Hazmat guidelines
- Knowledge of security industry regulations and code of conduct
- Understanding of firefighter instructional applications and operational responsibilities
- Ability to react efficiently in emergency situations
- Administration, interpersonal, and customer liaison skills
