About the Role
The Manager: Talent Acquisition will lead and oversee the end-to-end recruitment function, ensuring the organisation attracts, engages, and retains top talent. This role drives strategic talent acquisition initiatives, builds the employer brand, and ensures recruitment processes align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement proactive talent acquisition strategies to build a strong candidate pipeline
- Conduct end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions, including interviews, shortlisting, and creating role-specific interview questions
- Build and maintain professional networks, engaging with HR professionals and recruitment suppliers
- Recommend improvements to enhance the employer brand
- Monitor and report on recruitment metrics, sourcing efficiency, and staffing levels
- Research and select effective advertising channels and implement new sourcing methods
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of recruitment data to Payroll and maintain proper documentation
- Use data analytics to anticipate vacancies and minimise unfilled position costs
- Manage the requisition workflow process and ensure the Application Tracking System (ATS) is effectively utilised
- Oversee job portals and recruitment-related budgets, including cost control and forecasting
- Review and approve supplier invoices for processing
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Talent Acquisition team, setting goals aligned with business priorities
- Foster teamwork, productivity, and accountability within the recruitment team
- Advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and talent acquisition best practices
- Stay current on labour legislation and drive awareness within the team to ensure compliance
- Conduct market benchmarking for salaries and implement best practices in talent acquisition
- Liaise with management to anticipate future recruitment needs and plan accordingly
- Maintain and enforce the Recruitment Policy and related practices
- Evaluate and improve recruitment procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment laws, maintaining proper documentation and records
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- Relevant Degree in Human Resources or related field (essential)
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a mid-sized organisation, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Proven experience as a Recruitment/Talent Acquisition Manager
- Experience with career portals such as Pnet, LinkedIn, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Sage or SageX3 (advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of HR management practices, procedures, and labour legislation (BCEA, EEA, SDA, Codes of Good Practice)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
