Perpetual Inventory Controller – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Description
The Perpetual Inventory Controller is responsible for conducting physical cycle stock counts and verifying system stock on hand. The role ensures accurate inventory records by reconciling discrepancies, capturing variances, and identifying damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU inconsistencies in line with company standards.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Grade 12 with at least 1 year relevant work experience, or 2 years related experience

Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language

Literacy with strong numerical skills

High level of accuracy and ability to work under pressure

Basic computer proficiency
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Performance Areas
Perpetual Inventory Counts
-
Perform daily stock counts according to the PIC count cycle
-
Investigate all positive and negative variances and report findings to the Store Manager
-
Identify, investigate, and rectify negative stock quantities with approval from the Store Manager

Identify and report damaged stock to Store Management
-
Conduct mini stock-takes as instructed by Management
-
Support wall-to-wall stock-take preparations and report areas of concern
-
Complete normal PIC counts during full stock-takes
Reporting
-
Report daily variances to the Store Manager or Divisional Manager in line with the Cashbuild Way
-
Report all irregularities to Store Management or the Divisional Manager
-
Escalate unresolved irregularities to the Divisional Manager
-
Report incorrect pricing, poor-quality pricing, SKU issues, and damaged stock
-
Report poor merchandising in racking and bulk areas
-
Highlight bulk stock areas requiring special attention
PIC Adjustments
-
Ensure all inventory adjustments are actioned, verified, and signed off by Management
-
Validate the End of Day Report against the PIC Adjustment Sheet and file accordingly
-
Report any outstanding adjustments before the end of the trading day
Filing and Administration
-
Complete, sign, and file all PIC documentation daily after approval by the Store Manager

Customer Service
