Main Purpose of the Role
The Process Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing credit risk within DSV, ensuring that all credit-related activities align with the company’s risk appetite, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on minimizing financial exposure while supporting sustainable business growth through detailed credit assessments, analysis of financial information, and evaluation of industry trends. The position is internally customer-focused, balancing stakeholder needs with strict adherence to processes, controls, and compliance standards.
Tertiary Qualification
- Completed or currently studying Credit Management or BCom Accounting
- Other relevant financial or accounting qualifications will be considered
Computer Literacy Level
- Above-average computer literacy
Additional Computer Skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
- Solid working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience with ERP systems, with SAP and CargoWise1 preferred
- Experience using credit bureau platforms such as Cregalink, Atradius, and Experian
Job Related Requirements
- Proven experience in Credit Risk management
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable is advantageous
- High attention to detail when reviewing credit reports, financial documents, and system entries
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to assess and evaluate credit risk effectively
- Ability to make quick, accurate credit decisions
- Clear and professional communication of credit-related information to clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple accounts, tasks, and reporting requirements
- Ability to interpret and analyse credit reports and financial statements
- Accurate data capture and system maintenance
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation related to credit risk
- Professional and courteous engagement with clients
- Ability to identify, monitor, and manage potential credit risk exposures

- Experience working with credit bureaus and debtors’ insurance

- Completed coursework or certification in Credit Risk

- Experience in Shared Services or multinational Accounts Receivable environments

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end AR and Credit Risk processes within a logistics environment
- Ensure the Risk function delivers high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and ensure achievement of agreed KPIs
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, account managers, sales teams, business partners, and external clients
- Ensure full compliance with finance policies, including Credit Risk and Debtors Insurance policies
- Manage and administer the assigned credit risk portfolio
- Oversee claims processes where required and support insurance-related activities
- Participate in ad hoc projects relating to insurance, claims, and process improvements
- Prepare and distribute monthly performance reports for the insurance function
- Extract and analyse Experian and other credit bureau reports as required
- Provide recommendations to reduce, control, and mitigate credit risk exposure
- Identify and monitor high-risk accounts and potential problem clients
- Liaise with debtor insurers to secure and maintain cover for new and existing accounts
- Reconcile debtor insurer annexures with SAP data to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Maintain and manage client credit and insurance limits
- Provide timely and accurate risk visibility to key decision-makers
- Adhere strictly to month-end and reporting deadlines
