About the Role
The Product Owner (Onsite) is responsible for driving the day-to-day delivery of a digital product stream, ensuring alignment between business strategy, product vision, and development execution while maximizing value delivery through Agile practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily delivery of a designated digital product stream.
- Own, refine, and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring user stories, designs, and requirements are clearly defined.
- Translate the Product Manager’s vision and roadmap into actionable backlog items.
- Align features and releases with defined roadmap milestones and business priorities.
- Support sprint execution by clarifying requirements and providing detailed user stories to the development team.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure backlog transparency, visibility, and continuous updates.
- Validate product increments with users to ensure value delivery and alignment with expectations.
- Track feature performance metrics and apply data-driven insights to enhance functionality.
- Monitor sprint-level KPIs such as velocity, story completion rates, and defect trends.
- Provide feedback loops from delivery outcomes into strategic planning.
- Ensure team outputs consistently align with the overall product roadmap.
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to define and support seamless customer journeys.
- Identify and remove blockers to maintain sprint momentum and efficiency.
- Coordinate release planning and communicate timelines, progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
- Streamline development processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication between business units to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Document user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and feature documentation to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Develop guides, training materials, and support resources to assist adoption of new releases.
- Support training initiatives, business handovers, and continuous learning related to product updates.
- Contribute strategic insights based on execution performance and team feedback.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BSc), Business Administration, or related field (Essential).
- Scrum certification (Advantageous).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner (Essential).
- Experience in software projects and digital solutions (Essential).
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in backlog management and user story mapping.
- Practical knowledge of sprint planning and product lifecycle execution.
- Understanding of UX principles and acceptance criteria definition.
- Familiarity with relevant product and project management tools.
