Project Manager – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring a thorough understanding of project scope, operational impact, and business alignment. The role focuses on delivering measurable outcomes within agreed timelines in support of the Logistics division and other related business units, using structured project management methodologies to drive efficiency, improvement, and successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead and manage improvement and operational projects from initiation to completion
- Work closely with IT, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and task schedules
- Estimate project durations and allocate resources effectively
- Apply recognized project management methodologies throughout project execution
- Assign roles and responsibilities to project team members
- Monitor progress against project plans and ensure deliverables are achieved on time
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders
- Communicate project progress clearly and escalate risks or issues proactively
- Ensure all project objectives and outcomes are met within scope, budget, and deadlines
- Manage project administration, including meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, action tracking, and distribution
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper filing and record-keeping
- Provide timely communication and feedback to stakeholders
Project-Related Analysis and Execution
- Conduct business and operational process analysis to support project outcomes
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements
- Document findings, recommendations, and implementation plans
- Develop process documentation and solution-focused workflows
- Create process flow diagrams and related documentation
- Conduct research required for project design, application, and implementation
- Support operational improvements through structured analysis and reporting
General Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative duties related to project activities
- Maintain organized records and documentation
- Uphold professional standards and workplace housekeeping
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management (advantageous)
- PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)
- Minimum 3 years’ project management experience
