Project Manager – value logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring full understanding of project content and alignment with operational objectives. The role focuses on delivering required outcomes and meeting timelines for the Logistics division and any other related divisions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage projects, including process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure project completion.
- Achieve measurable business outcomes using structured project management methodologies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans.
- Plan, schedule, and estimate project tasks and timelines.
- Assign roles and responsibilities for project tasks.
- Monitor project progress, report status, and escalate potential issues.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and successful delivery of project outcomes.
- Administer project activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action points.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure proper filing.
- Communicate with stakeholders and provide timely feedback.
Project-Related Tasks
- Conduct analysis and operational actions to achieve project objectives.
- Investigate and evaluate business and operational processes.
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Report and present findings from analysis and project tasks.
- Develop process documentation, including process flows and solution-oriented reports.
- Perform research required for project application and implementation.
General
- Handle general administrative tasks related to projects.
- Maintain organized and efficient project-related housekeeping.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management is advantageous
- PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience
