Sales Representative – Value Logistics

About the Program
Value Logistics is looking for a results-driven Sales Representative to promote and sell Value services, with a strong focus on Value Truck Rental while cross-selling the full service offering across logistics and related solutions.

Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value services, driving new business, growing existing accounts, and cross-selling solutions across Value Truck Rental, Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express services.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Gather insights into customer transport, distribution needs, and spend
  • Evaluate potential customer expenditure and apply focus factors to prioritise opportunities
  • Analyse competitor presence within assigned territories
  • Build trusted relationships and long-term customer partnerships
  • Identify customer service requirements and present accurate, tailored quotations
  • Grow the existing customer base through cross-selling Value services
  • Close sales opportunities and onboard new clients
  • Target and develop national accounts in line with strategy
  • Maintain awareness of customer contracts and service commitments
  • Ensure solutions provided remain relevant to evolving customer needs
  • Understand customer operations and drive account growth aligned to targets
  • Add value to every customer interaction with clear visit objectives
  • Maintain service levels in line with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain high-frequency engagement with key business decision-makers
  • Keep product and service knowledge current
  • Resolve customer queries timeously, including invoicing, claims, and PODs
  • Represent the company professionally at all times
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Submit all sales and activity reports timeously
  • Meet team expectations, budgets, and sales targets
  • Support additional tasks aligned with role scope and organisational objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proven experience in a sales environment
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

Skills Required

  • Ability to apply appropriate sales techniques to different situations
  • Strong needs analysis within the assigned territory
  • Effective time management and planning
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
  • Understanding of risk management principles
  • Ability to make independent decisions and accept outcomes
