Sales Representative – Value Logistics

About the Program
Value Logistics is seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales Representative to promote and sell a wide range of Value Services. This role focuses on expanding the reach of Value Truck Rental while actively cross-selling additional services, including logistics, linehaul, equipment, fridge fleet, freight solutions, warehousing, clearing and forwarding, moving billboards, and express services.

Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and maximizing revenue through effective sales strategies and service delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Analyze client transport and distribution needs, including current expenditure patterns
  • Identify opportunities for growth and apply strategic focus to maximize revenue
  • Monitor competitor activity within the assigned area
  • Build strong client relationships and establish long-term trust
  • Assess customer requirements and provide tailored service solutions and quotations
  • Grow the existing client base through cross-selling Value services
  • Negotiate and close sales deals effectively
  • Target and secure national accounts
  • Maintain a clear understanding of client contracts and agreements
  • Ensure services provided remain relevant to evolving customer needs
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses to drive growth opportunities
  • Add value during every client interaction with clear objectives for each visit
  • Maintain service standards in line with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Engage regularly with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Continuously update product and service knowledge
  • Identify and resolve client issues promptly, including invoicing, claims, and documentation
  • Maintain a professional image at all times
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Submit accurate reports within required timeframes
  • Complete all sales reporting requirements on schedule
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, budgets, and performance objectives
  • Support additional tasks as required by management in line with role capabilities

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proven experience in a sales environment
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

Skills Required

  • Strong ability to apply appropriate sales techniques based on customer needs
  • Skilled in identifying and addressing customer requirements
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong customer relationship management capabilities
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles
  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage risk outcomes confidently
