Site Supervisor – Value Logistics

About the Program
Value Logistics is seeking a results-driven Site Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable delivery services while maintaining full compliance with operational standards.

Purpose of the Job
The Site Supervisor is accountable for coordinating and supervising site operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery services. This role manages driver attendance and documentation, oversees route planning and dispatch, ensures fleet readiness and safety, and enforces adherence to operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Supervise and monitor driver attendance and absenteeism to maintain optimal staffing levels
  • Coordinate all driver-related requirements with the Labour Broker and Regional Manager
  • Ensure accurate recording of drivers’ hours on weekly wage reports
  • Manage all fuel-related processes, including refuelling, fuel consumption tracking, EDC/Nedfleet card usage, and reconciliations
  • Ensure fleet condition meets SEC Manual standards and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate daily route planning, vehicle loading/offloading, documentation handovers, and driver dispatch
  • Enforce procedures for accident claims, product claims, and vehicle breakdowns
  • Communicate operational and distribution updates to the Account Manager
  • Debrief drivers’ trip sheets and reconcile with vehicle tracking reports
  • Oversee pre- and post-trip inspections, logbooks, workshop bookings, and COF compliance
  • Manage ad hoc vehicle requirements as operationally required
  • Ensure all driver documentation is valid and current, including PDPs, licences, medical certificates, and relevant certifications
  • Control issuance and use of PPE and uniforms for on-site staff
  • Ensure all vehicles have functional tracking units and arrange repairs where units are faulty
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, safe site
  • Conduct monthly panic button tests for all vehicles
  • Conduct and submit monthly tyre surveys
  • Ensure deliveries align with front-end planning requirements
  • Confirm loads are secure and compliant with safety standards before dispatch
  • Secure all vehicle keys at the end of each workday

Administrative Duties

  • Compile and submit operational reports timeously, including:
    • Vehicle Utilisation Report
    • Absenteeism Report
    • Vehicles in Workshop Report
    • Fleet Checklist
    • Weekly Site Report
    • Fuel Consumption Report
    • Vehicle Tracking Reports
    • Daily Statistics Report
    • Fleet Control Report
    • Management Report (including STOs, average loading times, and out-of-area deliveries)
  • Supervise completion, handover, and sign-off of customer documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance

Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by consistently meeting service level commitments
  • Monitor customer KPIs and service level agreements to ensure performance targets are achieved
  • Compile and present customer KPIs, operational reports, and proactively highlight risks or constraints

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
