What will you do?
This role at Santam’s Group Sourcing: Procurement department, based in Bellville, Cape Town, will primarily support the Property: Building and Plumbing Procurement Manager in executing procurement strategies across the Sanlam Group. As part of the Claims Procurement team, your responsibilities will include:
- Classification and detailed analysis of spend.
- Development of procurement business cases.
- Initiating procurement initiatives and implementing approved category plans.
- Managing sourcing, contracting, and commodities within the procurement portfolio.
- Controlling costs and achieving savings against the budget.
- Driving strategic sourcing initiatives and identifying opportunities for new projects.
- Managing supplier relationships, maintaining contracts, and ensuring compliance.
- Maintaining reporting platforms and validating system integrity and data quality.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement between procurement, operations, and clients.
- Attending and supporting Cross Functional Sourcing Team meetings.
- Assisting procurement managers with ad hoc tasks.
Key outcomes of this role include:
- Delivering cost savings.
- Ensuring optimal service delivery for client satisfaction.
- Implementing best-practice procurement processes to enhance efficiency.

Qualification and Experience
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) at level 4/5, or equivalent CIPS training, is advantageous.
- A BComm degree (preferred) or a relevant procurement qualification.
- Experience in sourcing, contracting, and supplier management across multiple spend categories.
- Minimum 3-5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, ideally in short-term insurance or a related industry.
