Purpose of the Job
The Specialist Ventilation is responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture in the workplace by implementing, monitoring, and reviewing protective and preventive safety measures. The role ensures compliance with health and safety guidelines while supporting a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Implement the One Sasol SHE Excellence approach and ensure full understanding of its risk-based methodology
• Ensure compliance with SHE performance requirements relevant to the Specialist Ventilation role
• Apply the SHE risk-based approach to manage key SHE undesirable events and associated controls
• Ensure understanding and implementation of Sasol Group SHE controls and standards
• Participate in governance structures and SHE professional forums
• Provide interpretation, reporting, and quality management of RFA functions
• Define, control, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality services on time
• Maintain cost awareness and effective budget control
• Provide specialist advice to improve business performance
• Evaluate, monitor, and refer patients, ensuring rehabilitation of occupational injuries
• Develop and deliver value-adding services and products that enhance business performance
• Perform statistical audits and compile progress and functional capacity reports
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, standards, and procedures
• Support Sasol’s vision, values, and strategic goals
• Set, manage, and monitor KPIs for RFA personnel
• Develop team objectives, secure required resources, and manage performance against agreed standards
• Maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements and share expertise proactively
• Ensure work and project plans meet technical and professional objectives
• Ensure medical records and documentation comply with required standards
• Establish and maintain professional service delivery standards
• Analyse risks, recommendations, and problems, design effective solutions, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain effective working relationships with Business Unit SHE managers, coordinators, and service providers
• Communicate professionally to build credibility, trust, and respect
• Manage non-conformances related to medical rehabilitation and functional assessments
• Ensure efficient use of resources and that equipment and medical assets are maintained, calibrated, and fit for use
• Ensure responsible areas are adequately staffed

Formal Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Occupational Hygiene
• Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (advantageous)

Work Experience
• 6+ years of relevant experience
