Operations Manager – Clicks Group

Job Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence by achieving financial targets, optimising resource utilisation, ensuring compliance with safety and service standards, and delivering high levels of service performance across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve agreed and budgeted financial targets through effective operational and cost management.

  • Optimise the utilisation of people resources to drive productivity and meet performance targets.

  • Ensure accountability for the maintenance and management of company assets to meet health and safety requirements and support a safe, efficient working environment.

  • Analyse and interpret key performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and enhance operational and financial performance.

  • Engage, collaborate, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently, improve business outcomes, and ensure compliance with service level agreements and legal requirements.

  • Lead and manage teams to ensure consistent adherence to company standard operating procedures, cut-off times, and daily reporting requirements.

  • Manage labour brokers in line with agreed service level agreements, including performance reviews and cost control approvals.

  • Deliver high service levels to stores through accurate, on-time deliveries, minimal damages, and clear, effective communication.

  • Manage transport partners to ensure compliance with agreed service level agreements.

Knowledge

  • Ability to conceptualise operational solutions aligned to business demand

  • Technical and systems knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes and applications

  • Experience implementing and managing complex picking systems

  • Health and safety legislation and best practices

Desirable

  • Project management principles, methodologies, and tools

  • Basic knowledge of labour relations legislation

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Financial management and cost control capability

  • Computer literacy

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and translate business requirements into effective process or system solutions

  • Capability to design, lead, and implement complex operational systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills across business and technical challenges

  • Effective change management and communication ability

  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
