Job Purpose

The Rigger Operator plays a key role in the efficient assembly and installation of marine equipment and structures. The role specializes in the safe and precise positioning of heavy machinery, components, and ship modules using a variety of rigging techniques and equipment, contributing to smooth and safe deck and workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out rigging and lifting operations for machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Assist the Chargehand in ensuring safe work conditions on vessels.
• Provide clear updates on ongoing projects to the Artisan, Chargehand, or Foreman.
• Report completed tasks to Artisan or Chargehand for inspection and defect testing.
• Select and use the correct slings, shackles, and rigging equipment for each task.
• Safely operate and maintain company rigging equipment.
• Assist with general site duties as required.
• Inspect and manage spares stored in the inventory room.
• Perform hands-on evaluations of defective tools and equipment.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years diesel fitting experience within the marine industry.
• Proven experience as a Rigger Operator.
• Trade Test Qualification.

Knowledge and Competencies

• Ability to assess each task and select the correct rigging equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
• Punctual, reliable, and positive attitude.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Commitment to safety and hygiene standards.
