Role Overview

The Regional Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting compliance audits, monitoring operational risks, and ensuring that stores adhere to Pick n Pay Clothing’s standards across assigned regions. This field-based role provides frontline verification of compliance and supports the continuous improvement of operational and risk management practices across the retail network.

Available Positions

  • Gauteng North/South, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga (6 positions)

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ audit experience with a focus on operational compliance.
  • Retail experience is advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with digital audit tools and data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of retail loss prevention methodologies and performance metrics.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements including FICA, POPIA, and OHS.
  • Comfortable using tools such as Yoobic, Power BI, or equivalent digital audit platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Auditing & Compliance Monitoring

  • Conduct scheduled and surprise audits using standardised digital audit tools.
  • Assess compliance with stock, cash, safety, and loss prevention controls.
  • Apply risk-based sampling methodologies to optimise audit effectiveness.

Collaboration with Area Managers

  • Partner with Area Managers to address non-conformances and develop corrective action plans.
  • Guide Store Managers on compliance improvements and corrective actions.
  • Provide real-time coaching during audit visits to enhance compliance understanding.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations.
  • Track and document recurring issues within the assigned region using centralised systems.
  • Contribute to risk heat maps and trend analyses for leadership review.

Training & Support

  • Conduct on-site compliance coaching for store teams during visits.
  • Support Area Managers in maintaining a strong compliance culture.
  • Share best practices across regions to improve overall compliance performance.

Follow-Up & Verification

  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings through systematic tracking.
  • Verify closure of action items with documented evidence.
  • Escalate repeat or high-risk issues to leadership with supporting documentation.
