Regulatory Accountant
The Team:
The Regulatory Reporting Team operates within the Group Reporting & Insights team at Old Mutual Limited (OML). This team has extensive knowledge of the business, driven by the rigorous reporting requirements for designated Insurance Groups and Financial Conglomerates. Collaboration with stakeholders across the group and regulatory bodies ensures strong relationships with all OML business segments.
The Role:
Reporting to the OML Group Regulatory Manager, the Regulatory Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing the Group’s regulatory submissions for internal and external purposes.
Key Result Areas:
- Own the process of planning, preparing, and analyzing submissions to the Prudential Authority (PA) and other regulatory bodies.
- Prepare ad-hoc regulatory submissions and applications as required.
- Compile the Off Balance Sheet schedule to support IFRS and regulatory reporting.
- Adhere to strict internal timelines to meet regulatory deadlines.
- Support key stakeholders, including Balance Sheet Management, Office of the Chief Actuary, Group Actuarial, Segment Finance, and Group Reporting & Insights teams.
- Assist with external audits by meeting timelines and addressing queries promptly.
- Contribute to business planning capital processes (e.g., ORSA) with supporting analysis and capital dashboard production.
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in IFRS reporting processes.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and implement necessary changes.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Group Reporting & Insights team.
- Understand legal and management consolidation structures with a focus on process discipline and controls.
Requirements:
- Qualified CA (SA).
- HFM/OneStream experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex reporting matters to senior management.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Fast learner with the ability to assimilate large volumes of information.
- Flexibility to work outside defined hours when required.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player.
