Job Purpose

The Data Quality Officer is responsible for validating, collating, and auditing data captured by programme teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with funder and DOH standards. The role maintains and prepares data for reporting to RSs, DOH, and PR, ensuring all information is accurately logged and processed.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Assessment

  • Capture data accurately from paper forms into the designated database following NACOSA guidelines.
  • Track and log all paper forms received using the in-house tracking system.
  • Review paper forms for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Verify data from paper forms against the electronic database.
  • Handle, store, and manage data securely.
  • Respond to internal queries regarding data deliveries and schedules.
  • Resolve data discrepancies promptly.
  • Supervise staff responsible for data collection.
  • Verify compiled monthly statistics for accuracy.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with stakeholders to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders and represent Anova in adolescent and youth programme platforms and Technical Working Groups (TWG).

General Administration

  • Create and maintain data files and documentation according to Anova SOPs.
  • Perform administrative duties for the data management department, including managing office supplies, handling stationery requests, and ensuring client records are correctly completed.

Human Capital Management

  • Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  • Adhere to all data management SOPs, guidelines, and confidentiality agreements.

Company Strategic Compliance

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures according to legislation.
  • Report unsafe activities to Senior Management or Human Resources.
  • Maintain decision-making authority as allocated to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Social Sciences, Development, Health, or a related discipline; IT or Data Management qualifications preferred.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in data capturing and monitoring.
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS, TB, and other disease programmes.
  • Knowledge of key populations and programme contexts.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
  • Strong computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
