Manager Liquor Store – Pick n Pay Careers

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Manager Liquor Store to oversee all operations within the liquor store. This role is responsible for maximising gross margins and profits, maintaining operating standards, and ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and compliance requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Standard 10 (Grade 12) / N3 or equivalent
• 2 years’ relevant experience

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Safety Management

• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards at all times
• Monitor compliance with merchandise and display standards
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and functional, coordinating repairs when needed
• Implement shrinkage control measures and monitor all areas for potential loss

Stock & Inventory Management

• Optimise stock levels to meet customer demand while maximising profitability
• Manage inventory and advise on merchandising safety and hygiene
• Conduct bi-annual stock takes and monitor departmental gross margins and turnover
• Analyse category performance and identify corrective actions where necessary

Customer Service & Supplier Relations

• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve queries effectively

Staff Management

• Evaluate, monitor, and support staff performance
• Supervise, coach, and develop the liquor store team
• Provide input into scheduling and operational requirements

Compliance & Administration

• Ensure adherence to the Liquor Act and all security procedures
• Complete all relevant administration documentation accurately and on time
