Supply Chain Analyst – DSV Vacancies

Main Purpose of the Role
The Supply Chain Analyst forms part of the SCO team and is responsible for the implementation, ongoing management, and cost-effective optimization of client inventory. The role focuses on analysing supply and demand data to reduce excess stock, prevent stockouts, improve inventory turnover, and deliver actionable insights. The position requires managing multiple clients across diverse industries and translating business requirements into effective inventory policies within advanced planning systems and BI reporting tools.

Tertiary Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field

Computer Literacy Level

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Additional Computer Skills

  • Experience with BI dashboards and visualization tools, with Power BI preferred
  • Exposure to QlikView, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms
  • Experience using inventory optimization and forecasting software such as JustEnough, OptiMatix, Netstock, or Forecast Pro
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros
  • Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint

Job Related Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management roles
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
  • Hands-on experience with inventory optimization, demand planning, or replenishment processes
  • Strong data analysis capability with experience handling large datasets
  • Sound understanding of inventory performance metrics such as inventory turns and safety stock
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and logical approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support effective client account management
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments with changing priorities

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and extraction
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support inventory optimization solutions for new clients
  • Perform daily monitoring, analysis, and problem-solving for assigned client portfolios
  • Analyse inventory levels, turnover performance, and demand patterns
  • Apply statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future inventory requirements
  • Identify inefficiencies across inventory planning, storage, and replenishment processes
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
  • Define and refine inventory policies, including safety stock, reorder points, and lead times
  • Support the standardization of inventory management practices across clients
  • Develop analytics and reports using Power BI, Excel, and inventory optimization systems
  • Monitor inventory risks such as demand variability, supply disruptions, and obsolescence
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to reduce inventory-related risks
