About the Role

Pep Vacancies is looking for an experienced Team Leader to oversee the Debtors Services team and ensure efficient accounts receivable operations. The successful candidate will support financial accuracy, manage team performance, and contribute to improving financial processes and reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and maintain debtor account classifications, payment terms, and amendments according to approved agreements and policies.
• Ensure debtor information is accurate, complete, and maintained in line with financial control requirements.
• Oversee the accurate and timely issuing of invoices and credit notes for debtor accounts.
• Prepare and distribute monthly debtor statements.
• Ensure all month-end and quarter-end deadlines for invoicing, credit notes, and allocations are achieved to support financial reporting and intercompany requirements.
• Reconcile remittance advices against debtor payments and resolve any discrepancies.
• Compile and monitor monthly debtor age analysis reports.
• Track overdue balances and provide regular updates to Finance leadership regarding collection performance and potential risks.
• Manage the daily workflow and performance of the Debtors Services team to ensure quality standards and deadlines are consistently met.
• Identify opportunities to enhance debtor processes, controls, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Finance leadership to implement system improvements and process enhancements.
• Support both internal and external audit processes to maintain strong financial controls and compliance.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification such as a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a finance department.
• Previous supervisory experience will be advantageous.
• Retail industry experience will be beneficial.
• SAP experience will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable processes will be beneficial.
• Computer literacy, including intermediate skills in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets.
• Understanding of financial systems and processes.
