Job Description

The Senior Certified Aviation Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of aircraft maintenance activities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting line maintenance inspections in accordance with approved procedures
• Performing routine inspections on aircraft avionics systems
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out rectification based on findings
• Completing thorough daily aircraft inspections to identify defects and potential issues
• Executing maintenance tasks to ensure continued airworthiness of the aircraft
• Complying with established maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
• Accurately recording and signing off all maintenance activities in line with SACAA requirements
• Adhering to Health and Safety standards to ensure personal safety, team safety, and fire and incident prevention
• Ensuring work areas, equipment, and tooling are safe and serviceable prior to commencing tasks
• Applying analytical thinking and structured troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions
• Communicating clearly and professionally to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of maintenance activities

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Trade Test Certificate in an avionics-related discipline, SACAA recognised
• Licensed AME with SACAA WI, W2, and W3
• B737-800 systems courses
• B737-8(MAX) systems course
• Oxygen course
• Minimum of 15 years’ aviation maintenance experience, including Line and SVM experience
• Proven experience as an Aviation Technician on B737-800 avionics systems
• Experience on B737-8(MAX) avionics systems and OJT experience
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
• Availability and willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice
• Valid South African passport and driver’s licence
• Strong understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation, including SWPM
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards
• Solid understanding of avionics schematic systems
• Advanced troubleshooting expertise on B737-800 aircraft
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
